What does the Bible mean when it warns against pride, envy, or lust? And what does it actually look like to be humble, patient, or pure? For centuries, Christians have organized the moral life around virtues and vices. These character traits are more than simple obedience or disobedience; rather, they reveal and shape the basic orientation of our hearts. It can be hard to make good decisions when we haven’t cultivated a godly character. Yet godly character comes from practice in Christian virtues. This class introduces the rich tradition of Christian virtue ethics by considering how disordered love corrupts character and how growing in biblical virtue reorders our love toward God and others.

Biblical Theology seeks to understand the Bible on its own terms and pays special attention to the progressive unfolding of God’s redemptive history. Themes in Biblical Theology will introduce the discipline and some of the methods of Biblical Theology and then trace the development of several important threads woven through the tapestry of God’s Word. Join us as we discover the marvelous unity of Scripture and learn to be whole-Bible Christians.
Digging Deeper (Women's Class)

Do you ever think that the Bible—or at least some of it—is just too difficult for you to understand? Or maybe you sometimes wonder if you’re correctly applying a verse or passage. Rest assured; God wants women to not only read His Word, He wants women to understand it. In this practical, hands-on class, you’ll learn how to use some basic, right-at-your-fingertips tools that will give you greater confidence as you read and apply God’s Word.
Membership Matters

The Membership Matters class overviews the core beliefs and commitments of HPBC. It will help you get to know us and give you an opportunity to interact and ask questions along the way. If you’re interested in joining Hampton Park, this class is the first step; though, you are welcome to attend even if you do not plan to join. Two options are available: the Core Class at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning or the weekend class on September 11 & 12. The weekend class will meet in the Fellowship Hall Friday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m.
