At Hampton Park, we believe that God has called his people to live in a committed relationship towards one another in local gatherings. We call this membership (1 Cor 12:27). Being members of a local church provides encouragement, care, instruction, and accountability in our commitment to follow Jesus. Becoming a member of Hampton Park is a simple yet thorough process.
Membership Application
If you are interested in joining Hampton Park as a member, please fill out a membership application. An online version of the membership application can be filled out below. Otherwise, paper copies will be handed out during the membership class. After you have filled out an application and attended Membership Matters, we will set up a time to interview you.
Membership Class
Our Membership Matters class is available two times a year as a six-week Core Sunday School class as well as a Weekend Block Class that is offered several times a year on a Friday evening and Saturday morning. To find out when the next class meets, please contact Emily Warner. The class includes lessons on the importance of the gospel, our church's mission, our vision for church membership, and practical ways to connect and serve. Attending does not require one to join, but we do ask that all prospective members attend this class.
Membership Interview
After filling out the application and attending the class, one of our pastors will contact you to set up a time to get together with you to interview you for membership. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and hear your profession of faith. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you have for us. Upon the recommendation of the pastor who interviewed you and the approval of the pastoral body, your name will go to the congregation for affirmation at a members meeting.
Congregational Affirmation
At our members meeting, the pastor who interviewed you will give a brief overview of your profession of faith to the members of our church. The congregation will then vote to receive you into membership.
